In a major breakthrough, Hyderabad police have arrested the accused in the gruesome killing of a 50-year-old woman from Jharkhand’s Ranchi. The arrest was done on Saturday and the accused will be produced
before the local court in Ranchi before he is brought to Hyderabad.
As per reports, police deployed five special teams to track the suspects and one of the teams traced them to Ranchi, hometown of the accused.
Hyderabad Murder Case
The main accused is 21-year-old Harsha who was employed at the woman’s residence around 11 days before the incident. He, along with two helpers, allegedly tied the woman, hit her with a pressure cooker and slit her throat.
After the brutal murder, the accused also took a shower in the victim’s flat.
The incident occurred between 3 pm to 4.30 pm on Wednesday at the woman’s flat in a high-rise apartment complex in Kukatpally in Hyderabad.
As per the police, Harsha along with another domestic help, who was employed in a neighbourhood’s flat, tied up the woman and stabbed her with knives and scissors, inflicting multiple injuries.
The accused took some gold ornaments and about Rs 1 lakh cash from the residence and fled. The police analysed CCTV footage, CDR to identify the accused. As per the police, the CCTV footage showed the suspects driving away on a two-wheeler belonging to the owner of the second suspect.
The victim resided at the flat with her husband, a steel businessman and their son, they said. The family hails from Kolkata and Harsha was hired through a manpower agency.
