Every traveller knows the panic — a dead phone, a forgotten charger, an overpriced airport sandwich you didn’t really want. Mumbai’s T2 just changed the game. Blinkit is now operating inside the terminal,
delivering to your gate in minutes, at city prices.
On April 1, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa dropped the news on X — and the internet immediately assumed it was a prank. He had to personally reply “It’s not.” And he meant it. Through a partnership with Adani Airports, Blinkit is now live inside CSMIA, making Mumbai the first airport anywhere in the world to offer in-terminal quick commerce.
Here’s everything you need to know before your next flight.
When Can You Start Ordering?
Right now. The service is already live at Terminal 2, domestic departures. If you’re flying domestic from T2, you can order today. Just make sure your Blinkit app is updated to the latest version.
How Do You Order?
The process is straightforward but there’s one important catch — you must clear security first. Open the Blinkit app after completing the security check-in. Select your exact location and place the order.
A delivery partner will walk to your location shortly. Verify the order and share the OTP with the delivery partner to complete delivery.
Also worth noting: the cash-on-delivery option is not available at the airport. Keep your UPI or card handy.
Where Will They Deliver? Near The Gate or The Ticket Counter?
Definitely closer to your gate, not the ticket counter. Delivery is available to boarding gates, lounges, restaurants and waiting areas inside the security area.
Orders cannot be delivered outside the gate or at the airport exit, and delivery is limited to areas after the security checkpoint, inside the airport only.
So if you’ve already checked in your bags and cleared security, you’re good to go. If you haven’t crossed security yet, you’ll have to wait.
Where Is the Blinkit Store/Warehouse?
Here’s where it gets interesting. There are actually two supply points at play. Blinkit’s store is located after the security checkpoint at the domestic departure of Terminal 2 at Mumbai airport — meaning there’s an actual in-terminal store on the airside.
Additionally, Blinkit’s dark store (for non-liquid items) is situated near the airport to facilitate quick deliveries.
For liquids specifically, permissible liquids such as packaged water, cold beverages and juices are sourced from approved in-terminal inventory, in line with airport security protocols — so they won’t be crossing security checkpoints, which keeps CISF happy.
What Are the Charges? Any Airport Premium?
This is the big question — and the answer will likely please most travellers. Standard delivery service fees will apply to orders placed inside the airport — the same fees you pay when ordering from home in the city.
No airport surcharge, no special handling fee on top of normal rates. Blinkit hasn’t announced any premium pricing for the airport channel.
That said, the official FAQ notes that standard Blinkit service fees apply as per the terms and conditions on blinkit.com/terms. Since Blinkit’s platform fees and handling charges can vary by cart value and location, it’s worth checking the app checkout screen before confirming your order.
Is There A Minimum Order Requirement?
Nothing specific has been announced for the airport channel. Neither Blinkit nor AAHL’s official communications mention any special minimum cart value for T2 orders. The standard Blinkit terms apply, so the same minimum order thresholds (if any) that apply in your city would likely apply here too.
What Can You Order?
The offering spans travel accessories, electronics, snacks, books, baby care and personal essentials.
Permissible liquids, such as packaged water, cold beverages and juices are available from approved in-terminal inventory. In total, travellers can order from a selection of 2,500+ products.
Think of it as a well-stocked convenience store that comes to you at your gate — from a forgotten charger to a last-minute gift or a bottle of water before boarding.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
• Domestic T2 only for now. Currently, only Domestic Departure, Terminal 2 (Mumbai Airport) is supported. Support for more terminals and airports will be added soon. International travellers and those at T1 will have to wait.
• No CoD. Only digital payment is accepted.
• Returns are possible — in case of a damaged or missing item, customers can initiate a return through the app before sharing the OTP.
The Bigger Picture
This is a direct shot at airport kiosks and duty-free shops that have long gotten away with overpriced bottled water and Rs 800 “airport edition” chargers. If Blinkit delivers on its promise of city-level pricing inside the terminal, it could fundamentally change how we think about shopping at Indian airports.
