Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5 went on floors just last month, and now an exciting update is coming from the sets of the Ajay Devgn-starrer. It has been reported that the comedy caper will featureAkshay Kumar
in an intriguing role. The actor, who is currently gearing up for the release of Bhooth Bangla, has allotted 18 days for the Rohit Shetty directorial.
As per Pinkvilla reports, Rohit was quite keen on having Akshay on board for the film, as this will add a fresh layer to the already much-loved franchise. A source informed the portal, “Akshay Kumar has a dynamic role in the film that will bring the house down with laughter. The Khiladi Kumar has allotted 18 days to shoot for the film and will share a very Tom & Jerry-like equation with Ajay Devgn on screen.”
“Akshay instantly loved the script and his character the moment Rohit Shetty narrated the film to him, and he was quickly on board to join the laughter-filled world of Golmaal,” the source further added.
If this report comes true, this will mark Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar’s first-ever full-fledged comedy film together. While the actors have shared screen space in Simmba, Sooryavanshi, Khakee and more, the Golmaal universe will present them in a hilarious rivalry equation.
Rohit Shetty Shuts Down Golmaal 5 Linkups
A report had earlier stated that Rohit Shetty is eyeing adapting Do Aur Do Paanch in the format of Golmaal. Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty Picturez issued a detailed clarification earlier this month, strongly denying any creative overlap.
The statement read, “We wish to issue a strict clarification regarding certain news reports currently circulating across online and digital media platforms claiming that Golmaal 5 is inspired by or based on the film Do Aur Do Paanch. We categorically state that these reports are factually incorrect, misleading and completely untrue. We strongly request all media houses, publications, portals and digital platforms to refrain from publishing or circulating unverified information.”
The statement further added, “Any news, update or clarification about Rohit Shetty or Golmaal 5 must be verified with us or our official PR representatives, Universal Communications, prior to publication, failing which strict legal action will be taken. We expect your cooperation in maintaining journalistic accuracy and responsibility. We also request that incorrect reports currently in circulation be corrected or taken down at the earliest.”
