The schedule for the first phase of the season has been announced. The Gujarat Titans will kick off their campaign with an away match against the Punjab Kings in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, on March 31. Following this, the team will return to their home ground in Ahmedabad to face the Rajasthan Royals on April 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. They are also set to play two more away games, one against the Delhi Capitals on April 8, and another against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 12.
The Gujarat Titans have been one of the most consistent teams in the IPL, reaching the playoffs in three out of their first four seasons and clinching the title in their debut season in 2022.
New Faces At GT
For the 2026 season, the Gujarat Titans have appointed former Australian great Matthew Hayden as their batting coach and former India wicketkeeper-batter Vijay Dahiya as an Assistant Coach, thereby enhancing the franchise’s coaching setup.
Hayden, a World Cup winner and one of the most formidable opening batters of his time, brings an illustrious international career and expertise in modern-day T20 batting dynamics to the Titans. His presence is expected to significantly bolster the franchise’s support staff as they prepare for the 2026 season with renewed energy.
Dahiya, a respected figure in Indian cricket, has represented India in 19 ODIs and two Tests and had a successful domestic career with Delhi before transitioning into coaching. He led Delhi to the Ranji Trophy title in the 2007–08 season and has since developed a robust coaching portfolio across domestic and IPL teams.
Since their debut in 2022, the Gujarat Titans have proven to be one of the most consistent teams in the IPL, reaching the playoffs in three of their first four seasons and winning the title in their inaugural campaign. With a strengthened coaching structure, the former champions are poised to build on their strong track record as preparations for IPL 2026 progress.
