Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday as the Prime Minister turned 76.
In a post on X, Gandhi wrote, “Happy birthday

Other opposition leaders across party lines also extended greetings to PM Modi on his 76th birthday. Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav wished the Prime Minister in a post on X and said, “Birthday wishes to the Prime Minister and best wishes for a healthy, active, and meaningful life!”
Extending his greetings on the occasion, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay said, “I extend my heartfelt birthday wishes to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Thiru. Narendra Modi avargal, who leads with dedication towards building a strong India. I wholeheartedly wish you a long life filled with good health.”
PM Modi-Rahul Gandhi Birthday Greetings
PM Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi have exchanged birthday greetings in recent years. On June 19, 2026, PM Modi wished Gandhi on his 56th birthday, praying for his “good health and long life”.
Gandhi had also wished PM Modi on his birthday in 2018 and 2019, while the prime minister has similarly extended birthday greetings to Gandhi in previous years.
PM Modi Turns 76
Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 76 on Thursday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in power at the Centre since 2014 under his leadership.
PM Modi is the country’s longest-serving non-Congress Prime Minister. He began his political career as a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and has led the BJP during its victories in three general elections.
The BJP is also beginning its month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ on Thursday to mark 25 years of Modi’s public life and service. While September 17 marks his birthday, October 7 will mark the completion of 25 years of his public service.
BJP National President Nitin Nabin had announced the campaign during a press conference at the party headquarters on September 9. He said PM Modi would complete 25 years of public service on October 7 and that the BJP would organise the special month-long campaign to mark the occasion.
