of the mountains. Safe to say, model Kendall Jenner has turned this dream into reality. Although the 30-year-old kept the location a mystery, she described it as a “sleepy little mountain town”, a place where she can temporarily retreat from her busy LA life.
Kendall Jenner recently opened the doors to her rustic abode to fans through Architectural Digest’s Open Door series. The custom-built property, designed by Heidi Caillier with a little help from architect Kirby Lee, is inspired by the Grandma Chic aesthetics. “This house was really semi-experimental for me. I really wanted to test my limits and see how far we could take it while still feeling like me. It felt really fun, really refreshing and just a little bit different for me,” shared the tequila mogul.

Kendall Jenner’s Mountain Home Decoded
Inside, the house has vintage decor, colourful wallpapers, chic upholstery and textural contrasts of elegant symmetries. The “ground-up build” has been purposefully conceptualised as a communal space for gatherings and celebrations. “I worked with Heidi Callier on this house, and one of the first things I said to her was that I really wanted grandma-chic. I wanted the explosion of patterns and fabrics and textures,” admitted Kendall Jenner.
Adhering to the style, the massive and “sit-tested” sectional couch was deemed “perfect” for fun hangouts with her friends. The living room features floral upholstery, coupled with dark wood panelling, an open glass roof, a rustic fireplace, and a large dining area that opens into the modular-styled kitchen. A bar corner contributes to the retro aesthetics. Meanwhile, high ceilings and unconventional light fixtures elevate the old-world allure.

One of the standout decor items inside is the priceless piano signed by American jazz guitarist and songwriter Les Paul. The multi-hued walls are replete with quirky designs and wallpapers. Kendall Jenner’s exquisite art collections also make the right statement. Keeping up with the woodsy vibe is the hand-picked furniture and a cosy powder area with vintage fixtures. There is also a bunk bed nook and colourful check-printed beddings.
