Wednesday became a quick hit for blending mystery, drama and dark humour. While fans loved the creepy fun, what really kept them hooked were the twists and secrets throughout the story. Season 1 answered
many big questions, but in the final moments, Wednesday Addams discovered that someone had been secretly watching her. As she returned to Nevermore Academy in season 2, the stalker didn’t stop, and the mystery continued. But surprisingly, the creators didn’t keep the suspense going for too long and revealed the stalker in episode 2. Let’s take a closer look at the person hiding in the shadows.
Who Is Wednesday’s Stalker?
Fans spent three years guessing who Wednesday’s stalker could be. Many thought it might be someone from the old cast, but season 2 surprised everyone by introducing a completely new character. The stalker turns out to be Agnes De Mille, played by Evie Templeton, who isn’t just any new student; she proudly calls herself Wednesday Addams’ biggest fan. Obsessed with her dark and mysterious personality, Agnes believes the only way to impress her is to be clever.
In the first two episodes of the new season, Agnes takes her obsession with Wednesday to dangerous levels. She crosses many lines, sneaking into private spaces and even putting lives at risk. While her actions are extreme, Agnes believes this will win Wednesday’s attention. Surprisingly, when Wednesday discovers the truth, she doesn’t react with anger. Instead, she decides to use Agnes’s obsession to her advantage. She turns the stalker into a helper and uses Agnes’s ability to dig deeper into the murder mystery of Galvin.
Showrunner, Miles Millar, spoke about Agnes’s obsession with Wednesday and told Netflix Tudum, “One of the highlights of Season 2 has been the relationship between Agnes, Enid and Wednesday. We felt it was important to challenge Wednesday and Enid’s relationship. How does Wednesday navigate the idea of friendship? We put Agnes in the middle of it, she’s this Wednesday superfan, and someone who believes she is a natural best friend for Wednesday. Agnes does something very extreme in Episode 2 and almost kills Enid. How does Enid reconcile that near-death experience with this growing friendship she sees between Wednesday and Agnes?”
Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams, and Season 2 jumps straight into the action. But this time, Netflix has split the season into two parts. So far, only four episodes are out and they’ve already delivered plenty of surprises, creepy moments and shocking deaths. Viewers won’t have to wait too long for more as Part 2 is set to release on September 3.
