The Red Fort will remain closed to visitors for three days from November 11 to November 13, 2025, following the car blast that occurred near the historic monument on Monday evening, killing nine people
and injuring over 20.
In an official communication addressed to the Superintending Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India (Delhi Circle), the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kotwali Police Station requested the closure of the Red Fort complex to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
The letter stated that the “investigation of the scene of crime is in progress but yet to be completed,” and hence, “it is requested that the Red Fort may please be closed for visitors for three days from 11/11/2025 to 13/11/2025.”
The SHO’s request was issued in view of the bomb blast incident involving a car at Netaji Subhash Marg near Red Fort Chowk on Monday, which caused significant damage and triggered heightened security measures across central Delhi.
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is expected to implement the temporary closure immediately to allow forensic teams and security agencies unrestricted access to the site.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the restrictions, while investigations into the suspected terror attack continue under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
