Ajay Devgn To Start Golmaal 5 Shoot In 2026?
According to reports, Golmaal 5, starring Ajay Devgn, is expected to go on floors in 2026. The project marks the fifth installment in the blockbuster comedy series that began in 2006 and remains one of most successful franchises. Mid-day reported, “Director Abhishek Pathak wants to ensure that the storytelling is as taut as the first two parts. The team plans to begin shooting in Goa by December and wrap up by March 2026. Kareena (Kapoor) shares great chemistry with Ajay. Since she led Golmaal Returns (2008) and Golmaal 3 (2010), her presence brings a nostalgic charm. The cast will be finalised by December end.”
Golmaal 5 Plot Finalised
In June, Pinkvilla reported that the fifth installment of the Golmaal franchise is all set to roll out in early 2026. But before that, Shetty is busy wrapping up the Rakesh Maria biopic starring John Abraham, which is scheduled to be completed by September 2025. “Rohit Shetty is presently shooting for the Rakesh Maria biopic with John Abraham in Mumbai. The film will be wrapped up by September 2025, and the filmmaker is aiming to lock the edit by the end of this year, for an early 2026 release. Right after completing work on the Rakesh Maria Biopic, Rohit moves on to the prep of Golmaal FIVE, and take it on floors by February/March 2026,” the portal quoted a source as saying.
About Golmaal
Rohit Shetty had confirmed Golmaal 5 in November 2024. The Golmaal series kicked off way back in 2006 with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited and has since delivered three more laugh riots, with the last one, Golmaal Again, releasing in 2017.
Ajay Devgn’s upcoming work
The actor will be next seen in De De Pyaar De 2 with Rakul Preet Singh. Recently, the trailer was released. The trailer picks up exactly where the first film left off — with Aashish (Ajay Devgn) and Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) still navigating their complicated age-gap relationship. In the new film, Aashish must now face an even tougher challenge: winning over Ayesha’s family. The two arrive at her parents’ home, played by R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor, who try hard to appear open-minded — until they realise that Aashish is almost the same age as Ayesha’s father. What follows is a mix of awkward humour, emotional moments, and the return of Aashish’s best friend, played by Jaaved Jaaferi, trying to keep things from completely falling apart.
