news that gave them some peace. Soon, Vijay announced that he would be entering politics, and now the actor has opened up about how he looks up toShah Rukh Khan as he enters this new phase in his life.
While talking to the Editor-in-Chief of NDTV, Rahul Kanwal, Vijay spoke about entering politics off camera. Mentioning what Vijay feels, Kanwal shared, “Vijay says, ‘I look up to Shah Rukh Khan; he speaks so well. His articulation, his elocution is very high. I used to see him, and I used to think, look at how well-spoken this guy is.’ He also spoke of how MGR and Jayalalithaa have been role models for him, along with Karunanidhi. He’s looked to them as stars, as models of what they were able to achieve.”
Vijay to enter politics
“When I entered cinema, I thought I was building a small sand house here. But you all have built me a palace. Fans helped me build a fort… That’s why I’ve decided to stand for them. For the fans who gave up everything for me, I’m giving up cinema itself,” the actor said at an audio launch organised at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on December 27.

The film has been heavily marketed as Vijay’s final cinematic outing before his full-time foray into politics, adding to the anticipation surrounding its release.
For the unversed, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan was supposed to hit theatres on January 9 but was later postponed due to certification issues. “It is with a heavy heart that we share this update with our valued stakeholders and audiences. The release of Jana Nayagan, eagerly awaited on January 9, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances beyond our control,” the makers announced following the film’s delayed release.
