Batwara 1947, Awarapan 2 has been racing ahead by a wide margin in terms of box office numbers. Now, much to fans’ delight, the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in India, making this Emraan’s first Rs 100 crore film as a solo lead!
Awarapan 2 Crosses Rs 100 Crore Mark
Awarapan 2 has officially crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian box office. According to Sacnilk, the Emraan Hashmi starrer earned Rs 9.75 crore on its first Tuesday, taking its India net collection to Rs 100.75 crore. In terms of gross earnings, the film has collected Rs 120.33 crore in India so far.
The film has maintained a strong run since its release. After opening with Rs 22 crore on Friday, Awarapan 2 witnessed a significant jump on Saturday, raking in Rs 33.75 crore. It followed that up with Rs 26 crore on Sunday, while Monday saw the film collect Rs 9.25 crore.
The box office performance also stands in stark contrast to its clash release, Batwara 1947. While Awarapan 2 added Rs 9.75 crore on Tuesday, the Sunny Deol-led film managed just Rs 1.8 crore on the same day. Batwara 1947 now stands at a five-day India net collection of Rs 30.32 crore.
Meanwhile, Awarapan 2 also continued its strong run overseas, where it collected Rs 2.00 crore on Day 5. This takes the film’s total overseas gross collection to Rs 23.80 crore so far, pushing its worldwide gross to Rs 144.13 crore.
Awarapan 2 Earns 122% Return On Investment
Awarapan 2 has also emerged as a strong commercial success in terms of return on investment. With a reported budget of around Rs 45 crore, Awarapan 2 has delivered an impressive 122% return on investment, according to a TOI report. Its strong box-office performance has helped the Emraan Hashmi starrer recover its costs and turn profitable within just days of its release.

Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. The film is a sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan and stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in key roles.
The cast includes Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit, Disha Patani as Zara, Shabana Azmi as Nafisa Nawaz, Puran Gabbi as Zorawar, Suvinder Vicky as Jaideep and Vijayant Kohli as Mehmood. Atul Kumar plays Interpol officer Samarth Singh, while Myrah Shivan portrays Aaliyah, Shivam’s adopted daughter. Aniruddh Rawal, Jugkrid Kamdee, Barun Chanda, Rukhsar Rehman, Richa Jain and several others are also part of the cast.
Shriya Saran and Shaad Randhawa make special appearances as Aaliyah Hamid and Kabir, respectively.
