Pan-India superstar Prabhas’s much-awaited fantasy horror-comedy The Raja Saab hit theatres on January 9. The Maruthi directorial failed to meet audience expectations. Despite receiving mixed reviews,
the film opened strongly at the box office.
The film has officially entered the list of Telugu movies to cross the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide on its first day. According to a report by Sacnilk, it ranks as the 10th highest-opening Telugu film of all time, joining the league of major blockbusters like Pushpa 2 and RRR.
The film has struggled to sustain this momentum. Despite featuring a superstar like Prabhas, The Raja Saab has witnessed a downward trend at the box office, especially in its latest collections.
The Raja Saab Box Office Collections Day 4
As per Sacnilk, The Raja Saab opened strong with a Day 1 collection of Rs 53.75 crore across all languages. Telugu led the numbers with approximately Rs 47 crore, followed by Hindi at Rs 6 crore. Meanwhile, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam contributed around Rs 55 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs 10 lakh, respectively. The impressive opening was largely fuelled by bookings, premiere shows, and strong fan turnout.
Collections witnessed a steep decline in the days that followed.
