Shahid Kapoor’s much-anticipated gangster drama O’ Romeo is already creating a buzz ahead of its theatrical release. Directed by filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson
Entertainment, the film is slated to hit theatres on February 13, 2026, strategically timed around Valentine’s Day week. However, recently report claimed that the film will be released on Amazon Prime.
As reported that the film will be releasing on Amazon Prime, even the poster of the film also mentions the same. A film generally releases on streaming after 45 to 60 days of its release in cinemas. However, the makers have not officially announced the film’s OTT release date.
Kartik Aaryan Was The First Choice For O Romeo?
Times Now reported that Kartik Aaryan signed his first Vishal Bhardwaj film. The rumours started in 2024 that the director offered the role inspired by Hussain Ustara to the star. But after the initial discussions, Kartik politely turned it down. Then Vishal offered this role to Shahid. Report further claimed that Kartik rejected O’ Romeo because he did not want to play an anti-hero early in his career. He explored the grey space with Freddy (2022).
O Romeo Teaser Out
The teaser of Shahid Kapoor’s much-awaited movie, O’Romeo is finally out. The one-minute 35-second-long video clip of Sajid Nadiadwala’s film, which marks the reunion of acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor, was dropped on Saturday morning. The film is a promising and powerful revenge romance inspired by true events. The teaser reveals that O’Romeo is set against the backdrop of unrequited love in a deeply emotional and turbulent narrative that explores passion, pain and the irreversible consequences of love denied. In the clip, Shahid Kapoor is seen flaunting his full-body tattoo. He is also seen fighting goons and firing gunshots. The teaser then introduces the rest of the cast of the movie – Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Aruna Irani, Vikrant Massey and Tamannaah Bhatia. Farida Jalal is also seen showcasing her savage avatar in the teaser.

O Romeo is Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj’s debut collaboration. The film also marks Vishal’s reunion with Shahid after over eight years. The two previously worked together on films like Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), and Rangoon (2017). The film is also Triptii Dimri’s debut collaboration with Vishal and Shahid.
