Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, on Thursday evening after experiencing “uneasiness”. He underwent multiple
tests, including a coronary angiography.
At present, the condition of the 65-year-old minister is said to be stable.
“Shri J.P. Nadda, Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare, was evaluated for uneasiness with tests, including a coronary angiography, on the evening of 13th August 2026. He is currently stable and admitted for observation in the Dept of Cardiology”, according to an official statement from AIIMS.

JP Nadda, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart, is the ex-president of the party. He is currently serving as the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare in the third consecutive term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government.
About JP Nadda
Hailing from Himachal Pradesh, JP Nadda was born on December 2, 1960, in Bihar’s Patna. He pursued his BA from Patna University and went on to study LLB at Himachal Pradesh University.
During his early years in career, Nadda actively participate in various movements run by activist Jai Prakash Narayan. In 1989, he was named the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) National Secretary.
In 1991, Nadda was elected as the President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP. Nadda marked his electoral debut in 1993 after winning the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and becoming the Leader of Opposition.
In 2010, Nadda was named the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected as a Rajya Sabha MP for the first time in 2012.
Nadda’s Role In CJP Talks
Recently, JP Nadda played a key role in discussions with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), aimed at ending protests over the paper leak controversy linked to NEET-UG 2026 at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Representing the Centre, he alongside Union Minister Jitendra Singh held two rounds with the CJP delegation.
In late July, Nadda met with activist Sonam Wangchuk at Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital and helped him break his fast. The activist had announced an indefinite hunger strike on June 28 to support the protesting students.
