A surprising family connection came up during the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Saif Ali Khan appeared on the popular game show along with his Haiwaan co-star Akshay Kumar on KBC when host Amitabh
Bachchan pointed out that the two of them are actually related. Big B seemed amused that the connection wasn’t widely known.
Amitabh Bachchan Reveals How He Is Related To Saif Ali Khan
The latest promo of the upcoming episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati shows Amitabh Bachchan telling Saif, “Many people don’t know that he is in our relation.”
Saif was clearly taken aback and responded, “Me?” After this, Amitabh went on to explain exactly how their families are connected.
The Kapoor Family Link
The connection goes through the Kapoor family. Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter, Shweta Bachchan, is married to Nikhil Nanda. Nikhil is the son of Ritu Nanda, who was Raj Kapoor’s daughter.
Raj Kapoor is Kareena Kapoor’s grandfather. So, Nikhil Nanda and Kareena Kapoor are cousins.
Since Saif Ali Khan is married to Kareena Kapoor, he is connected to the Bachchan family through marriage.
So, while Amitabh and Saif aren’t related by blood, their families are connected through Kareena and the Nanda-Kapoor family.
Amitabh Bachchan, explaining their family connection, told Saif Ali Khan, “Raj Kapoor’s daughter, Ritu’s son Nikhil is married to my daughter Shweta.”
Amitabh Bachchan Has A Question For Kareena
The revelation also led Amitabh to a rather amusing question. Since Saif is married to Kareena Kapoor, Big B wondered how exactly they should address each other within the extended family.
“So now I want to know how should I address Kareena? Kareena will call me what?” Amitabh asked.
The light-hearted exchange added another fun moment to the episode, while also introducing viewers to a lesser-known connection between two of Bollywood’s biggest families.
Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan married Nikhil Nanda in 1997. The couple has two children, daughter Navya Naveli Nanda and son Agastya Nanda.

The family connection aside, Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan have also worked together over the years. The two actors have shared the screen in films such as Eklavya: The Royal Guard (2007) and Aarakshan (2011).
