A serious issue has surfaced at Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati (MDS) University in Ajmer after a video linked to exam checking went viral online. The clip shows students openly checking answer sheets and making
jokes, which has raised big questions about how exam papers are handled. In the video, a bundle of answer sheets can be seen on a table as a girl casually comments on the answers and handwriting of students. She is heard saying that writing extra answers will not bring more marks and poor handwriting will lead to zero marks.
The students in the video are said to be checking BA Semester 2 first-year answer sheets for the History of India paper. What’s more concerning is that the questions are similar to those that appeared in the exam held on November 12, 2025. This has caused worry among students and parents, as the video suggests that proper rules and privacy were not followed during evaluation.
Students Seen Checking Exam Copies In Ajmer
Meanwhile, the university administration has said that the matter is under investigation. Speaking with News18 Rajasthan, Mahipal Godara, outgoing President, MDSU, said, “The matter will be investigated as per rules. A committee will be formed and if the video is found to be genuine, further action will be taken. It will also be examined where the lapse occurred.”
In the video, the two students say that a student has written only the questions instead of the answers in the answer sheet. At another point, they mention that a student has written the answer to the same question on every page. They even claimed that another student had answered question number 21, even though the exam had only 20 questions.
University Promises Full Investigation
After the matter came to light, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University’s Examination Controller, Dr SK Taylor, said that, as per rules, showing answer sheets to anyone other than the examiner is strictly prohibited. If any examiner has done this, it will be treated as serious misconduct. The university administration has assured that the entire matter will be investigated and necessary action will be taken.
