There was drama during the Asia Cup 2025 Group A match between India and the United Arab Emirates at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
The incident happened in the 13th over as Suryakumar
Yadav called back Junaid Siddique after the UAE batter was run out.

On the third ball of the over from Shivam Dube, the Indian all-rounder bowled it short of a length and outside off. Junaid Siddique had a wild heave across the line but missed it completely. Sanju Samson took an underarm throw at the batting end, hitting the stumps. The square leg umpire has referred the matter to the third umpire as replays showed that the batter was out of his crease.
India skipper SKY walked over to the umpire, rescinded India’s appeal and called the batter back.
It did not matter much as Junaid Siddique felt just two deliveries after, to Shivam Dube. The Indian all-rounder bowled it on a length and outside off as the UAE batter backed away but could not reach out for a shot. Mistimed it off the toe end of the bat as Suryakumar Yadav ran across over his left shoulder from mid-wicket and took the catch.
Dube ended up with three wickets, along with Kuldeep Yadav’s four scalps, to bowl UAE out for just 57 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy each took one wicket.
Opener Alishan Sharafu was the top scorer for the UAE with 22 runs after they were asked to bat first.
