Varanasi, May 7 (PTI) A 27-year-old man from Greater Noida drowned in the Ganga River here while taking photographs on a boat with his friends at Man Mandir Ghat on Thursday, police said.
According to Dashashwamedh
Police Station in-charge Vijay Kumar Shukla, Harshvardhan Thakur reportedly lost his balance and fell into the river at around 1 am.
He was swept away in the strong current, the police said.
A search for him was launched in the night, but due to the dark, he could not be traced.
The National Disaster Response Force and the police recovered the body on Thursday morning.
