You must be living under a rock if you haven’t heard about Bengaluru’s tallest and largest metro station. And, guess what? It will be positioned right next to the famous Jayadeva Hospital. Constructed
at a cost of Rs 130 crore, this multi-level elevated station will serve as a key transit hub for commuters once operational.
The station is named after Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, India’s first public heart institution to receive NABH Accreditation from the Quality Council of India in September 2015.
Interchange Station
Jayadeva Hospital Metro Station will be a double-elevated interchange station on Namma Metro’s North-South corridor that will connect the Yellow Line and the upcoming Pink Line.
Commuters will be able to board trains towards RV Road or Bommasandra from the Yellow Line platforms while interchange facilities for the Pink Line will open once its section from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara becomes operational.
Location And Name
The station is named after the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research. It serves key areas such as including MICO Layout (BTM), Gurappanapalya, Jayanagar and JP Nagar 3rd Phase. The station is easy to reach for people living nearby and those visiting the hospital.
Structure
The Jayadeva Hospital Metro Station rises across five levels:
Level 1: Road underpass that connects Bannerghatta Road and Dairy Circle
Level 2: Surface level road crossing for vehicles
Level 3: Elevated road from Ragigudda to Central Silk Board
Level 4: Yellow Line platforms
Level 5: Pink Line platforms
The concourse will feature ticket counters, AFC gates and administrative offices.
Tallest Metro Station
Once operational, Jayadeva Hospital Metro Station will be the tallest metro station in the country, standing at 29.1 meters high. It will also be Bengaluru’s first multi-level elevated interchange.
Entrances And Accessibility
The station will have 12 entry and exit points labeled A to L, the highest number in the Namma Metro network. Each zone has a lift and all entrances are equipped with wheelchair accessibility for easy movement.
Operations
The Yellow Line was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 1. It is the 19.15-km corridor that links RV Road to Bommasandra. The Pink Line interchange is yet to be launched. Once the Pink Line section from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara becomes operational, the station will function as a full interchange for both lines.
Passenger Traffic
After both the Yellow and Pink Lines are fully operational, the station is expected to serve 80,000 to 90,000 passengers daily.

The station is well-connected to city buses via stops like Jayadeva Hospital and Jayadeva Junction. Commuters can also find auto-rickshaws and taxis nearby for last-mile connectivity.
For food and shopping, there are popular eateries such as Cremeux Pizza & Bakery Cafe, AL-BEK, Kabab Magic and Appu Mushroom Dum Biryani. Go Bowl – Gopalan Innovation Mall is within walking distance for shopping needs.
