In a chat with Filmibeat, Veena Nagda shared that her henna charges for customised designs are costly, usually around Rs 1 lakh. Veena recalled first meeting Deepika on the sets of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, where she had applied Mehendi on her for a scene. Years later, the actress stayed true to her word. When it came time for her real-life Mehendi, Deepika reached out to Veena and ensured she was flown to Italy for the occasion. Veena was commissioned for a full five days to design henna patterns for the bride and other family members.
Recalling her time in Lake Como, Veena shared how challenging it initially seemed to create detailed Mehendi in the cold Italian weather. The chilly climate had made her wonder whether Deepika could endure the long hours needed for the intricate designs.
