A CCTV video has emerged in the firing case involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, showing one of the accused leaving a hotel where he was allegedly staying to carry out the attack.
The footage, said to
be from October 18, shows the accused leaving the hotel at nearly 4.12 pm with a bag believed to be containing pistols. Two other accused are subsequently seen leaving on a motorcycle at 4.13 pm.
The footage emerged as investigators probe the alleged movement and transportation of firearms used in the attack on Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
The Mumbai Police has alleged that the firing was carried out at the behest of Anil Pandit, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
According to news agency PTI, two suspects had travelled to Amritsar to procure the weapons, while two women allegedly transported the firearms by train to Mumbai and handed them over to the attackers.
The investigation is being conducted by the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Four Accused Arrested In Delhi
The Delhi Police arrested four people in connection with the firing incident, including two women identified as Radha, 23, from Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district, and Babita, 23, from Azamgarh district.
The two men arrested alongside them were identified as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19.
According to PTI, the women were arrested at New Delhi Railway Station on Tuesday. Radha was apprehended along with Babita and the two men. Another accused, who allegedly stayed in Mumbai to provide logistical support to the shooters, was also arrested, the report said.
An ANI report said the four accused arrested by the Delhi Police were brought to Mumbai’s Anti-Extortion Cell on Thursday. The two women were kept at Azad Maidan police station.
The Mumbai Police subsequently arrested seven more individuals from Haryana in connection with the firing incident, ANI reported. A total of 10 individuals were under police suspicion regarding the attack, according to the report.
Investigators said leads gathered during the probe helped them identify and arrest additional suspects.
Three Alleged Shooters Remanded In Police Custody
Earlier, the Mumbai Police produced three accused in connection with the firing before the Esplanade Court in Mumbai on Wednesday. The accused were brought from Kota in Rajasthan at around 3 am and presented before the court after undergoing medical examinations.
The court remanded all three accused to police custody until October 31.
The firing took place around 7 pm on Sunday in Mumbai’s Juhu area, when two assailants allegedly opened fire at Shroff’s car as he was leaving a football club.
While the actor escaped relatively unhurt, his driver sustained injuries. A bystander was also injured.
Families Of Two Women Claim They Are Innocent
The families of Radha and Babita have denied the allegations against them, claiming that the women have been falsely implicated in the case.
Radha’s mother, Maina Devi, told PTI that her daughter had moved to Haryana about a year ago in search of employment and was working at a factory for a monthly salary of Rs 15,000.
Radha married a local man, Sunil, in 2015 and has a son. She left her matrimonial home around 2018, and Sunil has since remarried. He told PTI that he had not been in contact with Radha for several years.
Babita’s father, Ram Jatan Ram, said his daughter worked in a packaging unit in Sonipat, Haryana. He alleged that a girl known to the family had taken Babita to Mumbai on the pretext of sightseeing.
Babita’s sister, Neelam, said Babita had travelled to Mumbai with her friend Radha to visit religious places and fulfil a vow.
According to the family, the two women were detained at a railway station while returning, and they were told that suspicious items had been found in Babita’s bag.
Babita also told her elder brother, Dilip Kumar, over the phone that she had accompanied another woman to Mumbai for sightseeing and was arrested upon returning to Delhi, the family claimed.
Azamgarh Senior Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar said the local police and intelligence agencies were coordinating with the Delhi and Mumbai Police to gather information about Babita and her alleged role in the case.
Her background, previous workplace and contacts were being examined, he said.
