BTS member Jungkook faced a wave of criticism over his recent Instagram Stories, amid the growing controversy surrounding his rumoured relationship with aespa’s Winter.
Although the two K-pop stars have
been linked for some time, the rumours intensified recently as fans noticed various ‘hints’ suggesting a relationship between Jungkook and Winter.
Jungkook Shares Story Amid Relationship Rumours
Despite persistent rumours about his relationship with Winter, Jungkook had remained silent until now. On December 9, the K-pop idol shared an Instagram story that sparked heavy criticism online. The story was simply a repost of RM’s, showing a bowl of ramen with no comment from Jungkook.
Given the ongoing controversy, many expected Jungkook to break his silence and address the rumours. Instead, he posted a picture of ramen, leaving fans disappointed by his casual response.
BTS Star Jungkook Receives Backlash
A social media user on X wrote, “I’m jealous of how thoughtless he is. He really does not care if the other members get criticised because of him.”
“I’m not even a fan, but it really seems like BTS doesn’t care about their fans at all,” another commented.
Someone else said, “So his first communication after the fan-deception scandal is a ramen repost? That’s incredibly careless. Some fans are now directing their anger towards RM… It seems like the ‘Jungkook, do whatever you want’ mentality of the fans has backfired.”
“He’s basically pushing fans to leave the fandom,” another user wrote. “Such a cold attitude… If he doesn’t like being an idol, maybe he should just quit,” someone else criticised.

Jungkook Fans Fire Back With Responses
As their favourite idol faced heavy backlash over a simple ramen picture, many fans came to his defense.
“So they’re happily eating ramen and living well,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Isn’t Jungkook a veteran idol? How long should he have to worry about fans’ opinions regarding his dating life? Honestly, BTS probably finds all this exhausting and annoying by now, lol.”
“Telling idols not to date is something you say to rookies who haven’t established themselves yet, but BTS isn’t in that position, right? Everyone, just leave them alone. Youth is something you can’t buy with money. Are they supposed to wait until they’re forty to date?” another fan stated.
