Ranveer Singh has sent his prayers for the flood-hit state of Punjab. Persistent monsoon rains have triggered one of the most devastating floods in Punjab in recent years. Vast areas of the state are submerged,
displacing thousands, damaging property, and inundating crops. The crisis has sparked widespread concern across the country.
Ranveer Singh took to his Instagram Stories and shared, “Prayers for Punjab.” He added a wounded heart emoji, a prayer hands emoji and a peace sign emoji. Several celebrities have expressed their support and prayers for those affected. Have a look at Ranveer’s post here:
Recently, Alia Bhatt also took to her Instagram Story and wrote, “My heart goes out to everyone affected by the floods in Punjab. Sending love, strength and prayers to all those impacted, and gratitude to the people working tirelessly on the ground to help. May every family find the support they need to heal and rebuild.”
Taking to his X handle, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his grief and wrote, “My heart goes out to those in Punjab impacted by these devastating floods. Sending prayers and strength… The spirit of Punjab shall never break… may God bless them all.”
Many others, including Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao, and Ananya Panday, have shown their sincere worry for this adversity. Taking to X, Sidharth Malhotra wrote, “Heart goes out to everyone affected by the floods in Punjab. Praying for strength, safety and relief for all.”
Karan Johar included a list of helpline numbers in his post to ensure that people affected have access to rapid assistance and wrote, “It’s been a tough time for our friends & family in Punjab with the brutality of the floods. Sending my prayers and strength to overcome this adversity. Please do your part in any way possible and share only verified information.”
Diljit Dosanjh has adopted 10 villages across Gurdaspur and Amritsar in collaboration with NGOs and local authorities. His team revealed that they are working to provide immediate relief, including food, water, and medical aid. Once floodwaters recede, rehabilitation and long-term rebuilding measures will be implemented. “Together, we can rebuild,” Dosanjh’s team stated on Instagram.
What Is The Situation In Punjab?
Heavy rains in the upper catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir have caused the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers to overflow, triggering severe floods in Punjab. Reports indicate that over 1,000 settlements have been affected, and more than 61,000 hectares of farmland have been submerged. The worst-hit districts include Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar. As a precaution, authorities have temporarily suspended the Char Dham Yatra and Hemkund Sahib pilgrimage until September 5.
