The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is taking its campaign against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to Kerala, with the party announcing a protest in Kochi on November 7. The demonstration
will demand the cancellation of the voter roll revision exercise.
Named ‘Jantar Mantar at Kochi’, the protest will take place at Rajendra Maidan from 4 pm, the party announced in a post on X on Thursday.
“Save Democracy! Cancel SIR! Join Us – 7th November – 4 PM | Rajendra Maidan, Kochi,” the post read.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke is expected to join the demonstration along with Vijay Mallangi, the party’s south zone lead, and national secretary Aafreen Nawaz.
The Kochi event comes after a series of confrontations between CJP leaders and Delhi Police over attempts to protest against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and the SIR exercise at Jantar Mantar.
Last month, Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were detained by Delhi Police after attempting to organise a demonstration against the CEC at Jantar Mantar without permission.
The fight to save our democracy is not over!

The developments followed the government’s decision to denotify Jantar Mantar as an official protest site. In response, Ranka and Das entered the area and waved the national flag to oppose the decision. Both were arrested and remained in jail for a week.
They were subsequently released after submitting an undertaking to the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM), promising not to organise further demonstrations at Jantar Mantar while the location remained denotified.
Dipke was also arrested after announcing a Tiranga event at Central Park in Connaught Place last month. He was later released by the SEM on a conditional bail bond. One of the conditions required him to ensure that he did not breach the peace for one year.
Earlier, CJP had expressed support for the INDIA bloc’s march in Delhi on November 1. However, the party did not take part in the rally led by Rahul Gandhi at Ramlila Maidan.
