Dhurandhar: The Revenge has created history by breaking yet another record. The film has now become the second-highest-grossing Indian film of all time, dethroning Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, with its
total collection now standing at Rs 1,789 crore. Meanwhile, the lifetime collection of Baahubali 2 stands at Rs 1,788 crore.
After being in the headlines and the first choice of moviegoers for weeks, the film has seen a significant dip following the release of Bhooth Bangla and later Hollywood releases, Michael and The Devil Wears Prada 2. The film that holds the record for the highest-grossing Indian movie is Dangal, with a collection of Rs 2,070 crore, and it is quite unlikely for Dhurandhar to dethrone the Aamir Khan starrer.
In India, the Ranveer Singh-starrer delivered an impressive box office performance, grossing Rs 1,362.60 crore over a span of 46 days. Out of this, the film’s India net collection stood at Rs 1,138.54 crore, reflecting its strong domestic hold. Meanwhile, its international run also contributed significantly, with the overseas gross reaching Rs 425.75 crore by the end of its sixth weekend, further cementing its global success.
Dhurandhar 2 plot
The story of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge follows Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh, as he evolves into the fearsome Hamza Ali Mazari. After defeating mobster Rehman Dakait in the first film, Jaskirat has become firmly embedded in Karachi’s underworld, earning the nickname “Sher-e-Baloch.” Sara Arjun portrays Yalina, Hamza’s wife. The sequel goes deeper into his past, telling how R. Madhavan’s Ajay Sanyal recruited him for the risky assignment. The plot focuses on his attempt to dismantle criminal networks and the financial backbone of terrorist operations, resulting in a psychological war with the mastermind.
