After the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Uttar Pradesh, attention has now shifted to the publication of the final electoral roll. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa has announced
that the updated voter list will be released on April 10, 2026, marking a crucial step in the state’s election preparedness.
Rinwa said the Election Commission remains committed to ensuring that the voter list is accurate, transparent and free of errors. Ahead of the final publication, he chaired a high-level review meeting and issued directions to officials to complete the last phase of preparations with utmost diligence.
The revision exercise was conducted with January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. It involved extensive house-to-house verification, along with the processing of claims and objections, issuance of notices and hearings. Following the release of the draft roll, authorities addressed millions of claims and objections to refine the database.
Officials said that once published, the final voter list will be treated as the official record and will form the basis for any future revisions.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has directed all district election officers to convene meetings with recognised political parties at 11 am on April 10. During these meetings, copies of the final electoral roll will be distributed, and acknowledgements of receipt will be sent to the CEO’s office.
Voters have been advised to verify their names in the list after its publication. In case of discrepancies, they have been asked to apply for corrections without delay. The Election Commission has reiterated its objective of ensuring that no eligible voter is excluded and no ineligible name is included.
The final roll, which will also be available for download on the Commission’s official website, is being seen as a key document for upcoming electoral exercises in the state. Officials have been instructed to recheck all data thoroughly before publication to maintain the integrity and reliability of the list.
The April 10 release is expected to bring a significant update for lakhs of voters in Uttar Pradesh and is being viewed as an important step towards strengthening the democratic process.
