Director Maruthi made a strong assurance to Prabhas fans at the pre-release event of The Raja Saab, promising that the film would meet expectations without compromise. The event, held on Saturday, was
attended by the film’s cast and crew ahead of its theatrical release next month.
The Raja Saab is a horror-comedy featuring Prabhas in the lead role, alongside Niddhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on January 9 and is among the most awaited Telugu releases of the season.
Addressing fans at the event, Maruthi made a bold statement while speaking about the film’s quality and his confidence in the project. He said, “If even 1% of you are disappointed in the film both Rebel Star fans and family, you can come to my house and question me – Villa No. 17, Kolla Luxuria, Kondapur!”
Prabhas, who was standing beside the director on stage, was seen smiling as the statement drew loud cheers from the audience. The director later became emotional while speaking about the actor’s dedication and effort in bringing the film to life. Prabhas responded by hugging Maruthi on stage, drawing applause from fans.
Earlier, Maruthi had also spoken about Prabhas in a video message shared on the film’s official X account. In the clip, he said, “Telugu audience has seen the entertaining version of Prabhas. But Pan India has never. After coming out of the theatre, you will remember Prabhas from this film for many years. The get-up and everything… it is a great episode… and has never been seen on Indian screen.”
The Raja Saab is written and directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment. While the film was officially announced in January 2024, shooting had begun earlier in 2022.
The film is set for a Sankranthi release on January 9 and will face competition from several Telugu and Tamil films arriving in theatres during the festive window.
