Dua Lipa might’ve officially tied the knot with her husband, actor Callum Turner in London on May 31, but that doesn’t mean the party has to stop there. The couple are currently in Palermo, Sicily, to celebrate
their love and their wedding in a massive party. They kicked off the first day of this celebration with welcome drinks for their friends at the Palazzo Valguarnera Gangi on June 5.
The party is expected to be star-studded, with celebrities like Charli XCX and her husband George Daniel, Mark Ronson, Grace Gummer, Troye Sivan, and Joe Alwyn, to name a few, to be in attendance.
A Page Six source has revealed some information about the upcoming wedding party: “The actual wedding weekend is June 5-7 at Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria, Sicily, near Palermo, Italy. It’s going to be a huge, ultra-luxurious affair.”
According to The Times, the couple selected Palermo, Sicily, as their wedding location after taking a vacation there last summer. They have booked out the Villa Igiea as the guest headquarters so that “all their guests can stay together, celebrate privately and just enjoy the weekend.”
After seeing the images from her intimate court wedding celebrations, where the singer wore a custom Schiaparelli skirt suit, it is a given that her wedding outfits are also going to go hard.
For the first day of the party, Dua Lipa stunned in a sexy ensemble that was made up of leather and feathers. The queen of living her best life and making no apologies for it, Dua Lipa wore a Bottega Veneta white gown with a dangerously low back that had her new husband, Callum Turner, obsessed with her backside, and there are photos to prove it.
The top half of the halter-neck gown was made up of textured white leather, which is the signature intrecciato weave of the brand. The figure-hugging bottom flowed into a mermaid-style skirt, which was made of white ostrich feathers.
She accessorised with a matching feathery clutch and more gold Bulgari jewellery. It was a no-brainer that Dua Lipa would sport Bulgari on her big days, as she has been associated with the brand and is an ambassador for the jewellery line for a while. She wore a Serpenti bracelet on the first day of her Sicilian celebrations and also chose a Serpenti necklace with her wedding suit.
A peek at the photos of the wedding party and one would see the interesting decor. The party has quite a few bookshelves, filled with books placed across the yard. Dua Lipa is a well-known lover of books. She even has her own digital book club where she recommends several literary works.
And this decor also hints to the way she met her current husband. Dua Lipa and Callum Turner met at a dinner event in Los Angeles before a mutual friend’s birthday party. They sat next to each other and struck up a conversation, realising they were both reading the exact same book, Trust by Hernán Díaz. Both of them had just finished the first chapter, leading Turner to jokingly say, “So we’re on the same page”.
