Directed by Saravanan, Silambattam had it all: Silambarasan pulling double duty, Sneha, Prabhu, Santhanam, Kishore, punchy dialogues, and of course, Yuvan Shankar Raja’s unforgettable soundtrack. Back then, it was a superhit that made fans dance, cheer, and fall in love with Simbu’s style. Now, it’s time to feel that excitement all over again. Fans are already buzzing, ready to revisit their favourite moments, from the adrenaline-pumping fights to Simbu’s magnetic screen presence.
Silambattam marked the directorial debut of cinematographer-turned-director S. Saravanan. The film features Silambarasan in a challenging dual role as both father and son. Prabhu, Sneha, and Sana Khan play the lead roles, while Kishore appears as the antagonist. Supporting performances include Santhanam, Nedumudi Venu, and Ponvannan, with Premji Amaren making a special appearance. The film’s music and background score were composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, contributing to its energetic and memorable soundtrack. The story follows Vichu, a young priest raised by his grandfather, who is compelled to confront his hidden past after a disruptive incident at the temple forces him to reveal his true identity.
