Murshidabad, arriving with his wife and keeping his appearance understated.
Videos circulating online showed Arijit greeting media personnel with a warm smile before briefly interacting with reporters in Bengali and heading inside to vote.
Family Participates in Voting
Earlier in the day, Arijit’s father, Surinder Singh, also exercised his franchise at a polling booth. Speaking to the media after casting his vote, he expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and said everything was proceeding smoothly.

Polling Amid Tension in Parts of Murshidabad
While voting continued across constituencies, reports of unrest emerged from certain areas in Murshidabad. Clashes were reported between supporters of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) and the ruling Trinamool Congress in Naoda.
The incident, which took place in Shibnagar village during the first phase of polling, led to police and central forces carrying out a baton charge to bring the situation under control. Instances of vehicle vandalism were also reported. Allegations were directed at supporters of Humayun Kabir from the AJUP, though he denied any involvement.
The Election Commission has sought a detailed report on the incident.
Key Details of West Bengal Elections 2026
The high-stakes West Bengal Assembly Elections are being conducted in two phases, with the second phase scheduled for April 29. Counting of votes will take place on May 4.
A total of 294 Assembly seats are up for grabs, with 1,478 candidates in the fray. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is aiming for a fourth consecutive term, while the Bharatiya Janata Party is looking to strengthen its position after securing 77 seats in the previous election.
