Release Date and Earlier Announcement
The crime thriller is slated to premiere on September 5, exclusively on Netflix. Interestingly, the first promotional poster of Inspector Zende had already been unveiled on August 7, alongside the official announcement of the release date. At that time, Netflix teased the audience with the line, “Chor – police ka khel ab hoga shuru. Inspector Zende is now reporting for duty.”
According to reports, Inspector Zende is set in the gritty world of 1970s and 1980s Mumbai, an era known for its underworld dominance and high-profile crime cases. The narrative revolves around the infamous Swimsuit Killer, Carl Bhojraj, who manages to escape from Tihar Jail, setting off a nationwide alarm.
Manoj Bajpayee essays the role of Inspector Madhukar Zende, a determined officer who will stop at nothing to bring the fugitive back behind bars. Opposite him, Jim Sarbh portrays the cold-blooded Carl Bhojraj, adding intense drama to the cat-and-mouse chase.
The film also stars Bhalchandra Kadam, Sachin Khedekar, Girija Oak and Harish Dudhade in supporting roles, each adding depth to the storyline.
Manoj Bajpayee’s Upcoming Projects
Alongside Inspector Zende, Manoj Bajpayee will soon reprise his role as Srikanth Tiwari in the much-awaited third season of The Family Man. The new season will bring back key cast members including Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Ashlesha Thakur and Vedant Sinha.
After the phenomenal success of the first two seasons—Season 1 introducing the world to Srikanth’s double life as a family man and intelligence officer and Season 2 showcasing Samantha Ruth Prabhu as a fierce antagonist, Season 3 is set to raise the stakes even higher. This time, Jaideep Ahlawat will step in as Srikanth’s new adversary, promising intense confrontations and a gripping storyline.
