Eid-ul-Adha 2026 Namaz Timings: Eid-ul-Adha 2026, also known as Bakrid or the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant festivals celebrated by Muslims across the world. The festival commemorates
Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and devotion to Allah.
According to Islamic belief, Prophet Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command. Before the sacrifice could take place, Allah replaced his son with a ram, symbolising mercy and faith.
Eid-ul-Adha will be observed in India on May 28, 2026. The festival falls on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
Bakrid Namaz Timings
Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) 2026 Namaz prayers are generally expected to take place between 6:15 AM and 10:00 AM. Timings may vary by 15–30 minutes depending on the mosque and local sunrise schedules in different cities.
Bakrid 2026 Rituals
The day begins with special Eid prayers offered in mosques and Eidgahs, followed by gatherings with family and friends. One of the key rituals of Bakrid is Qurbani, the symbolic sacrifice of an animal such as a goat or sheep.
The meat is traditionally divided into three parts – one for the family, one for relatives and friends, and one for those in need.
Charity and compassion are central to the celebrations, with many people donating food, clothes and essentials to the underprivileged. Families prepare festive meals and exchange greetings of “Eid Mubarak” to mark the occasion.
Eid-ul-Adha also coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, making it spiritually significant for Muslims around the world.
