About Ranabaali
Ranabaali brings Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna together once again after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series. The film is set during the British colonial period and draws inspiration from the struggles of people in Rayalaseema. It is not a direct biopic of any one historical figure but tells a story rooted in the events and experiences of that era.
Vijay plays Ranabaali, a man from Rayalaseema who stands up against British oppression. Rashmika plays Jayamma, his wife who stands by him in his fight. Arnold Vosloo plays Sir Theodore Hector, the film’s antagonist and a British oppressor.
Ranabaali Review
News18 Showsha gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote in its review, “Ultimately, Ranabaali’s a film whose ambitions are more impressive than its execution. An overreliance on graphic violence, some underdeveloped characters and lack of nuance in exploring its political themes prevent it from achieving the impact it seeks. Instead, it remains an ambitious but uneven film that has something important to say, even if it does not always know how best to say it.”
