Jio Platforms Ltd made a strong debut on Dalal Street on Wednesday, with its shares listing at Rs 1,358 apiece, a premium of Rs 239, or 21.36 per cent, over the initial public offering (IPO) price of Rs 1,119
per share.
The listing marked a significant milestone for the company, with the Ambani family celebrating Jio Platforms’ stock market debut on the National Stock Exchange of India through a ceremonial gong strike.
Investors who were allotted the minimum lot of 23 shares under the shareholder category would have gained Rs 5,497 based on the listing price of Rs 1,358 per share.
The stock’s debut comes amid a cautious start to the broader equity market, with benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declining in early trade, weighed down by IT stocks, rising crude oil prices and investor caution ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision.

The 30-share BSE Sensex tumbled 601.14 points to 72,997.55 in early trade, while the 50-share NSE Nifty tanked 146 points to 22,604.80.
Among the 30 Sensex companies, Infosys, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, ITC and Asian Paints were among the biggest laggards.
However, Larsen & Toubro jumped more than 4 per cent after the engineering major reported a 32.5 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 5,202.10 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, driven by higher revenue.
State Bank of India and Axis Bank were also among the gainers in the blue-chip pack.
