A new week starts with another Google Chrome security alert that has been issued by the security agency of the Indian government. The risk alert comes with a warning for millions of Chrome users in the country.
The latest Chrome security warning comes via the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) with a high severity ranking, which is never good news, especially when it involves a highly popular product like Chrome in question.
The web browser running on Windows and Mac is facing these concerns that can be exploited in dangerous ways.
What CERT-In Has Said About New Chrome Security Alert
The security agency of the government has shared a detailed bulletin, dated July 24, 202 which gives the specifics of the alert. “Multiple vulnerabilities exist in Google Chrome due to type Confusion in WebAudio, inappropriate implementation in WebAudio, out of bounds write in ANGLE, read and write in ANGLE, Insufficient validation of untrusted input in Chromecast, Integer overflow in Chromecast, Uninitialized Use in Skia, Stack buffer overflow in V8 and Use after free in UI.”
In simple terms if a remote attacker is able to exploit these series vulnerabilities in Chrome, the targeted user becomes a victim of a possible phishing attack to steal their data. Having said that, these components are highly sophisticated and the company has clearly spotted something wrong that can become a problem for anybody using the browser and targeted by the hackers.

- Google Chrome versions prior to 150.0.7871.181/.182 for Windows and Mac
- Google Chrome versions prior to 150.0.7871.181 for Linux

Users now must download the latest available software update for Google Chrome on Windows, macOS and Linux.
