Christmas surprises usually come wrapped in gift boxes, bows and cosy vibes. But this one came with a luxury handbag and a side of chicken fingers for the next five weeks and the internet cannot stop talking
about it. A couple’s Christmas celebration has gone viral after a video showed the boyfriend taking his girlfriend out for the festive outing, straight into a Chanel store.
A voice in the background cheekily announces, “When your boyfriend takes you to the Chanel store for Christmas.” What follows is a moment that feels romantic, relatable and real. Inside the store, the woman casually points to a handbag and asks, “Can I get this?” The man’s response is instant and honest as he says, “You can get whatever you want, Maria, but I am probably never going to financially recover from this. And we are gonna be eating chicken fingers for the next 5 weeks.”

Despite the jokes and the financial anxiety, the man goes further with the purchase. As he pays, his hands are visibly shaking while holding the card. The clip ends on a softer note with the woman walking away holding her Chanel bag and the wide smile on her face says it all.
Video Sparks Debate
The comment section quickly turned into a debate on love, money and boundaries in relationships. One user wrote bluntly, “You are not a good girlfriend asking him to get you something you know he can’t afford. That’s just bullshit behaviour.” Another joked, “Chanel AND chicken fingers for the next 5 weeks?! Merry Christmas to you, girl!”
Internet Was Visibly Uncomfortable
Some viewers were visibly uncomfortable with the moment. An individual added, “I would never let my man’s hand shake while he makes the purchase. No Chanel purse is worth him being stressed about money. Happy did you I wouldn’t do it personally.” Another echoed the same sentiment, saying, “Him shaking and saying what he said would have not allow me to let him to buy it.” A person added, “I hope its content.. it’s not worth the stress you put on him.”
The Christmas shopping video has indeed sparked a conversation that millions couldn’t scroll past.
