Jennifer Aniston has opened up about her divorce from Brad Pitt. In a recent interview, the FRIENDS star recalled the time when she parted ways with Pitt and revealed how she coped with being under the spotlight
during that difficult time. Jennifer was speaking to Vanity Fair when she recalled a feature interview she had given to the same publication just after her divorce. The actress called it a “jarring experience” and admitted that it was a “vulnerable time” for her.
“I haven’t looked at that article in forever. I just remember the experience of doing it, which was kind of jarring. It was also such a vulnerable time. But yeah, that was one for the memoirs,” she said.
The actress further mentioned that during her divorce, she was offered the role of Brooke Meyers in the movie The Break-Up. However, the makers were not sure if they should cast her because of a turmoil in her personal life.
“It was kind of cathartic to go right from that. So when they came to me, they were a little nervous about making the offer because they thought, ‘Oh, is that insensitive? Is it inappropriate?’ But I actually thought, ‘What a great opportunity.’ I knew it would actually kind of benefit me emotionally, just as a human being, and also serve the script and the character pretty well,” she admitted.
Jennifer Aniston further expressed disappointment with the media coverage of her divorce and added, “It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn’t have their soap operas, they had their tabloids. It’s a shame that it had to happen, but it happened. And boy did I take it personally. We’re human beings, even though some people don’t want to believe we are. They think, ‘You signed up for it, so you take it.’ But we really didn’t sign up for that.”
A Look At Jennifer Aniston And Brad Pitt’s Love Story
