Don 3 Controversy: Salman Khan has not reached out to either Ranveer Singh or Farhan Akhtar to play peacemaker and try to resolve their dispute, as per new reports. Previously, it was reported that Salman had
called both Ranveer and Farhan due to his fondness for them and tried to explain both perspectives on the matter.
However, a source has now told Hindustan Times, “The speculations of Salman Khan calling and acting as a mediator are not true. No such intervention has taken place.” The report mentioned that, as per sources, the delays in Don 3 shoot, which is allegedly one of the reasons behind Ranveer’s exit, did not happen on the part of the makers.
“Ranveer had come on board for the film, and Farhan wanted to start it immediately after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023). However, Ranveer had given dates to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra and had already begun look preparations for the film. Post that, Prasanth Varma’s project gathered momentum and Don 3 was again pushed from the actor’s side,” the portal quoted a source as saying.
The report also mentions that after Baiju Bawra didn’t happen. Ranveer Singh decided to focus on Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. “He felt that after a string of non-successful films, this particular project had the potential to elevate his standing with audiences and that his coming on board as Don after that would be better positioning for the franchise,” the source said.
“Once Dhurandhar picked up momentum, Ranveer backed out of Don 3 on December 20, 2025, just three weeks before the film was scheduled to go on floors,” the source also mentioned. However, there have also been reports claiming that Ranveer exited the film due to creative differences.
A report by Free Press Journal claimed that Ranveer wanted a darker and more aggressive version of the character, including stronger language and heightened violence, while Farhan Akhtar wanted to stay closer to his original vision for the franchise. Several reports also suggested that Ranveer was unhappy with the absence of a locked final script.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Pralay. If a report by Bombay Times is to be believed, Ranveer Singh will begin shooting for Jai Mehta’s directorial in August this year. It is said to be a zombie-thriller film which will be mounted on a large scale- a first for the genre in India.
