Vaibhav Sooryavanshi looked quite amused as his Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag turned down requests from paparazzies to pose alongside the teenage batting sensation. A clip of the viral interaction
from Mumbai Airport is doing the rounds on social media with Parag reasoning that they are not ‘film stars’ as he moves along.
“Hum nahin hain film stars,” Parag quipped as Sooryavanshi stared at his skipper with a wry smile.
Parag will captain RR in the Eliminator match of the IPL 2026 after the former champions defeated Mumbai Indians to seal the fourth and final playoff spot last Sunday.
Eyes will be on 15-year-old Sooryavanshi who has had a historic season while showing no mercy to the bowlers twice his age. An Orange Cap contender, he scored a 36-ball century against Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this season and now holds the record for the two fastest hundreds by an Indian in the IPL’s history.
At various stages of the ongoing season, Sooryavanshi has led the Orange Cap race and is currently fifth on the list with 583 runs from 14 matches while maintaining an excellent strike-rate of 232.27. Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan is the current leader of the pack with 638 runs from 14 matches.
