As the rift between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Raghav Chadha widened after the latter decided to join the BJP, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday posted a video to rebut the Rajya Sabha MP’s allegations
of a “toxic work environment” within the party.
In a video shared on Instagram, Chadha said his move was driven by concerns over what he described as a toxic work environment within his former party, AAP. In response, Bharadwaj said Chadha was comparing his resignation to changing jobs, and accused him of conspiring with the BJP for AAP’s downfall.
“When you change jobs, you serve a notice period to tell your employers that you are going to a new company. You don’t hatch conspiracies against your previous company. You (Chadha) decided to join the BJP when the ED tightened pressure on you, but you didn’t tell anyone,” Bharadwaj said in a video on X.
“You hatched a conspiracy in collusion with the BJP. He said he would highlight individual middle-class concerns to build his image as a youth leader, which helped the BJP. The Central government told Chadha that it would help his image as a neutral leader. The BJP-led Centre and Chadha had worked together,” he said.
Response to Raghav’s Video
Raghav Chaddha says his changing party is like someone switching a job from one company to another.
Though it’s not the same but even when people switch jobs, they don’t hatch conspiracy against their parent company

Bharadwaj said Chadha was not facing criticism for leaving the party but for hatching “a conspiracy” against it. “You are even married today because this party had made you a Rajya Sabha member, or no one would have paid heed to you,” the AAP leader added.
Raghav Chadha and Parineeti Chopra tied the knot in a private ceremony in Udaipur’s Taj Lake Palace in September 2023. Their wedding was also attended by AAP national convenor and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann.

What Did Chadha Say?
Addressing criticism over his decision to quit the AAP and join the BJP, Chadha claimed that the party now has a toxic work culture, making it difficult for members to function effectively.
“I am not here to make my career in politics. I gave 15 years of my prime youth to a particular party. You are censored from speaking in Parliament and doing work. This party is now in some corrupt hands,” he said in a video on Instagram.
He said he had considered several options, including leaving politics, trying to reform the party from within, or moving to another platform. He ultimately chose to join the BJP. “I will continue to raise your problems with more energy and enthusiasm,” he added.
Raghav Chadha and six other Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MPs quit the party last Friday and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, marking a significant development in the political landscape.
