Kantara: Chapter 1 is one of Hombale Films’ most ambitious undertakings. The creative team includes music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production designer Vinesh Banglan, all of whom have shaped the film’s powerful visual and emotional narrative. Moreover, the makers are leaving no stone unturned in carrying forward the legacy of this 2022 masterpiece. They have curated an extensive war sequence for Kantara: Chapter 1 with national and international specialists, involving over 500 skilled fighters and featuring 3,000 people. This sequence was filmed in an entire town spanning 25 acres on rugged terrain, over a period of 45–50 days, making it one of the biggest sequences in the history of Indian cinema.

Kantara: Chapter 1 is set in the Kadamba period in Karnataka. The Kadambas were significant rulers of parts of Karnataka and played a major role in shaping the architecture and culture of the region. That period was known to be a Golden Period of Indian History. Rishab Shetty is not just playing the lead in Kantara but is also directing it. It was in 2023 that Shetty announced that what the audiences saw was actually part 2 and therefore, what will be released next will be Kantara’s prequel.
Prabhas’s The Raja Saab Again Postponed
According to the latest reports, the film’s release has been postponed once again, with the makers reportedly eyeing a new date for its big theatrical debut. The 123 Telugu mentioned that at the Mirai trailer launch event, producer TG Vishwa Prasad confirmed that the movie will release in theaters on January 9, 2026, as a special Sankranthi release. This Sankranthi is set to be even more exciting for audiences, with films like Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu and Anaganaga Oka Roju, as well as Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, hitting the big screens. The Raja Saab is a horror-comedy produced on a massive budget, featuring Sanjay Dutt in a crucial role.
