The controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3 is not ending anytime soon. The Bollywood actor has now sent a legal notice to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) against
its non-cooperation directive, which was issued last month.
As reported by Hindustan Times, Ranveer Singh sent a legal notice to the film’s body on Tuesday. However, details about his notice have not been revealed as of now. FWICE has also not issued a statement reacting to Ranveer Singh’s legal notice as of now.
Don 3 Controversy: What’s Happening?
The fallout between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar over Don 3 has become one of Bollywood’s biggest controversies. According to multiple online reports, Singh exited the film due to creative differences with the makers. Several reports also suggested that Ranveer was unhappy with repeated delays in production and the absence of a locked final script.
What initially appeared to be a routine casting change has now escalated into a legal matter, with Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment demanding Rs 45 crore in compensation and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issuing a non-cooperation directive against the actor.
Following the ban, Singh’s spokesperson also issued a statement and said that the actor does not wish to add to the speculation around the matter and believes such professional disagreements are best handled privately. “Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect,” a part of the statement read.
Ranveer Singh’s Next Movie: Pralay
The ‘ban’ by FWICE had also put a spotlight on Ranveer’s upcoming film, Pralay. Fans were concerned about the future of the project amid the controversy. However, sources have said that the film will not face delays due to this. If a report by Bombay Times is to be believed, Ranveer Singh will begin shooting for Jai Mehta’s directorial in August this year.
