Salman Khan is currently working on his next movie, Battle of Galwan. While fans are eagerly waiting to watch their favourite Bollywood superstar on the big screen, it has now been revealed that the film
is likely to hit theatres in June 2026.
Recently, a source cited by Bollywood Hungama shared an update on the film and said, “The shooting began in September in Ladakh and a major chunk of the film has been shot. The team have already filmed key challenging and action sequences. The shooting will be wrapped up in December, after which director Apoorva Lakhia will completely focus on the post-production.”
The insider further revealed that the makers are planning to release the Battle of Galwan in June 2026 and added, “A January release obviously won’t be possible now. But June is seriously being considered, although the team is also looking to see if there’s an ideal release date in the months of July and August next year.”
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan revisits the harrowing 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops — a rare border skirmish that turned deadly without any firearms being used. Instead, soldiers resorted to hand-to-hand combat with sticks and stones, making it one of the most emotionally charged stories in recent Indian history.
With its stirring subject and powerful cast, Battle of Galwan is poised to be one of the most impactful cinematic tributes to India’s armed forces in recent years.
Amitabh Bachchan Also Part Of Battle Of Galwan?
Recently, filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia shared a few photos showing Bachchan on the sets of Battle of Galwan. The post only added fuel to the frenzy, with fans and gossip pages alike wondering if the Sholay icon had joined the cast. However, the filmmaker later clarified that Bachchan’s presence had nothing to do with the movie. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Lakhia explained, “No, he was shooting for a commercial in the opposite studio, so I went to meet him and said hello.”
It should be noted that the film’s release date has not been officially announced as of now.
