A Noida-based CEO has gone viral after sharing why he decided to fire a senior employee over what seemed like a simple workplace question. In a post that quickly gained attention online, the CEO revealed
that the employee had asked him, “Sir, tell me what to do next. Someone I brought in specifically because I didn’t want to think for that function anymore. Someone I gave full freedom to on day one. A moment, he claimed, reflected a lack of initiative expected from someone in a senior position.”
According to the CEO, experienced professionals should be capable of identifying problems, taking ownership, and making decisions without constantly waiting for instructions from management.
He argued that leadership roles require independent thinking and accountability, especially in fast-paced work environments where companies expect employees to contribute proactively.
The post soon sparked a heated discussion across social media platforms, with users divided over whether the firing was justified or unnecessarily harsh.
