As the countdown begins for the theatrical release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, fresh details about the highly anticipated sequel have surfaced following its certification by the Irish Censor Board.
The
film, headlined by Ranveer Singh, is gearing up for its global release on March 19, with preview shows scheduled to begin a day earlier on March 18. The newly surfaced certification details have now offered audiences a clearer idea of what to expect from the high-octane action spectacle.
‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Censor Certification
According to the information available online, the Irish Censor Board has granted the film an 18 (Adults Only) certificate. The rating reportedly stems from the film’s intense content, including brutal action sequences, strong violence, explicit language and brief instances of mild nudity.
The certification closely mirrors the classification received by the franchise’s previous installment, Dhurandhar, which was also given an ‘A’ rating when it released in theatres on December 5.
Runtime Revealed
Alongside the certification, the film’s runtime has also been confirmed. According to the listing, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will run for approximately 235 minutes, making it one of the longest mainstream commercial Bollywood releases in recent years.
The nearly four-hour runtime places the sequel around 30 minutes longer than the first film, which had a runtime of about 214 minutes.
Continuing the ‘Dhurandhar’ Saga
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film continues the story established in the original Dhurandhar, which emerged as a massive box-office success and went on to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time.
The franchise not only dominated the domestic market but also performed strongly overseas, cementing its place as a global blockbuster.
Advance Booking And Early Box Office Buzz
With the release date fast approaching, early box-office indicators suggest strong audience interest. Reports indicate that the film’s all-India advance booking collection has already reached approximately ₹31.9 crore gross.
Meanwhile, initial projections for the North American market estimate that the film could earn around $4.05 million during its opening weekend, signalling a promising start for the action-packed sequel when it arrives in cinemas worldwide on March 19.
