Anil Kapoor is gearing up for the release of his latest film, Subedaar. The actor recently attended the film’s trailer launch event, where he highlighted how his family keeps him grounded. He mentioned
that despite his superstar status, no one treats him like a celebrity at home, and that he takes money from his wife sometimes.
Anil Kapoor said, “No one is my fan at my home. As I was leaving home today, I told my wife I was heading for a trailer launch. She asked, ‘Which film?’ She has no idea what’s happening in my professional life — and that’s the kind of family I come from. They treat me exactly the same. Sometimes I even ask for Rs 10,000–15,000 in cash before heading to a shoot.”
Anil Kapoor has often spoken about his wife, Sunita Kapoor, fondly. He has often expressed how Sunita has had a major role in his success. In a conversation with The Indian Express, the actor revealed that his real-life relationship with Sunita inspired his role in Subedaar, and emphasised that her contribution to both his life and career has been immensely significant.
Anil spoke about playing the titular role of a man who deeply loves both his job and his nation. When the host asked whether he drew from his relationship with his children to portray the character in Subedaar, the actor clarified that this wasn’t the case. Instead, he shared, “In Subedaar, I think I dug into my relationship with my wife.” He added that his relationship with his daughters, Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, is more like that of friends.
