Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a three-nation visit from December 15 to 18 to deepen bilateral relations and discuss regional and global issues. Prime Minister Modi will begin his tour
from Jordan, at the invitation of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement issued on Thursday.
During the trip, the Prime Minister will hold talks with King Abdullah II to review the full spectrum of India-Jordan relations and exchange perspectives on regional developments. His visit, from December 15–16, coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and aims to explore new avenues for cooperation in trade, investment, and regional peace and security.
In the second leg of the visit, PM Modi will travel to Ethiopia from December 16–17, at the invitation of Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali. This will be the PM’s first visit to Ethiopia. He will engage in extensive discussions with Dr. Abiy on strengthening India-Ethiopia ties, highlighting the shared priorities of the two nations as partners in the Global South, including friendship, development cooperation, and regional stability.
Thereafter, the BJP leader will head to the Sultanate of Oman from December 17–18 in the final leg of the tour, at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. This marks PM Modi’s second visit to Oman and comes 70 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations. The visit follows Sultan Haitham’s State visit to India in December 2023. Both sides are expected to review their Strategic Partnership, covering trade, investment, energy, defense, technology, agriculture, and culture, while also exchanging views on regional and international developments.
The three-nation tour underscores India’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties across the Middle East and Africa, while reaffirming shared values of friendship, cooperation, and regional stability.
