Actor Sonakshi Sinha has once again spoken out in support of the CJP-led student movement, this time sharing powerful images from the July 20 ‘Sansad Chalo’ protest in Delhi. Her post came after the march
witnessed clashes between protesters and police, with videos showing alleged lathi-charge, tear gas shelling and injuries to several students demanding action over the NEET paper leak controversy and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Sonakshi Sinha Shares Photos From The Protest
Sharing a series of photos from the protest on Instagram, Sonakshi wrote, “20th July…bohot logon ki haddiyaan tooti aur ek POORE DESH ka dil toota. Yaad rakhna.” The photos showed injured protesters, police action and scenes from the demonstration that have since gone viral on social media.

Sonakshi Sinha Had Earlier Backed Sonam Wangchuk
This is not the first time Sonakshi has spoken in support of the movement. Ahead of the July 20 march, she had urged people to stand with Sonam Wangchuk and the protesting students, saying every voice deserves to be heard in a democracy. She also criticised Wangchuk’s removal to hospital and appealed for peaceful demonstrations, expressing hope that the authorities would begin a meaningful dialogue with the protesters.
While Sonam Wangchuk is on a hunger strike, his team, on his behalf, responded to Sonakshi’s post, thanking her for the support. The comment under the post read, “Thank you for your solidarity. We truly appreciate your support. With gratitude, Office of Sonam Wangchuk.”
What Did Sonakshi Sinha Say About CJP Protest?
In her video, Sonakshi expressed concerns for Sonam Wangchuk’s health and said, “I’ve never given a statement out like this, but today we can’t ignore him. Sonam Wangchuk. We all know him. We know what he has done for our country, what his achievements are and how many awards he has won.”
She continued, “He is hungry. He hasn’t eaten anything. For whom is he doing this? He is doing this for the future of children who lost their lives. He is fighting a system which is not working properly. I know this. You know this. We all know this. A lot many people are still silent. I can’t stay silent. Whatever will happen, let it happen. No problem. I can’t remain silent.”
She also requested the government to initiate a dialogue with Sonam and said, “Why is nobody listening? Nobody cares. Nobody is open for a dialogue.” The actress then mentioned that she decided to issue a video statement because it was high time for her to speak up. “Main koi anti-national nahi hu,” she said.
