Wedding rumours surrounding music composer Anirudh Ravichander and Sunrisers Hyderabad CEO Kavya Maran are back in the spotlight. This time, the buzz has grown stronger after Anirudh’s uncle, actor Y Gee
Mahendra, spoke about the reported marriage in a recent interview.
For months, fans have been speculating about Anirudh and Kavya’s relationship. While the two have never confirmed they are dating, Mahendra’s latest comments have added fresh fuel to the rumours.
Speaking to KPTV, Y Gee Mahendra described Anirudh as “a very soft boy” before congratulating him on what he claimed is an upcoming wedding.
“I would like to take this moment to congratulate him. He is getting into a very big wedding,” Mahendra said.
He further claimed that the information had been confirmed to him by family members.
“Based on what I’ve been told, it’s a sure thing. They are getting married.”
Although he did not reveal when or where the wedding will take place, his remarks have gone viral on social media.
Mahendra also had words of praise for Kavya Maran. Calling her capable and hardworking, he said, “That girl is not just another ordinary girl. She has the capacity to handle such a big team (SRH). She has inherited her father’s business genes.”
He also added, “They’re a good pair. Both of them should get together and indulge in musical business.”
This isn’t the first time Anirudh and Kavya have been linked. In June 2025, a Reddit post claimed that the two had been dating for over a year and were planning to get married. The post also alleged that Rajinikanth, who is related to Anirudh, had met Kavya’s father, Kalanithi Maran, to discuss their relationship.
At the time, Anirudh dismissed the marriage reports on X, writing, “Marriage ah? lol .. Chill out guys, pls stop spreading rumours.”
While he denied the wedding rumours then, he did not address the dating speculation.
Despite Mahendra’s latest comments, neither Anirudh Ravichander nor Kavya Maran has officially confirmed or announced any wedding plans so far.
