Ali Fazal has gradually built a diverse body of work across films, OTT, and international projects. The actor, known for balancing intense roles with mainstream entertainers, may now be exploring another
action-oriented project.
Following the popularity of his character Guddu Pandit in Mirzapur and the anticipation around its upcoming film adaptation, sources suggest that Ali could soon collaborate with a leading action star for a new large-scale project. While there has been no official announcement yet, discussions are reportedly underway.
Ali has previously been seen in action-driven roles, particularly through Guddu Pandit, a character that became widely popular among OTT audiences. He also appeared in the Hollywood film Kandahar alongside Gerard Butler, where he stepped into a more international action space.
A source close to the development shared, “Ali has always had the physicality and intensity required for action. With Mirzapur already establishing him as a powerful action presence, the industry is looking at him very seriously for bigger action-led films. There is work happening towards a massive project with a major action star, and this could be one of the most exciting collaborations for Ali”.
Over the years, Ali Fazal has continued to experiment with different genres and formats, moving between independent films, streaming projects, and international cinema. On one hand, Ali returns to the gritty and high-stakes world of Mirzapur, a franchise that has cemented his place as a powerhouse performer. Alongside, projects like Raakh promise to further explore his intense and action-heavy side. On the other hand, he will be seen in a completely different avatar in Lust Stories 3, where he steps into the shoes of a charming lover boy, showcasing a softer, more nuanced side of his personality.
Speaking on this, Ali said, “2026 honestly feels like one of the most creatively fulfilling years I’ve had in a while. I’ve always believed that as an actor, you should constantly put yourself in uncomfortable spaces, and this year was no less. On one hand, I’m revisiting the world of Mirzapur, which is raw, intense and physically demanding, and yet the film carries a freshness I did not expect.”
On the other hand, I’m stepping into stories that require a completely different emotional language, whether it’s romance, thrill or a more restful, restrained person. What excites me is this constant shift in energy. Because life is like that. It throws punches at you from all sides. We play many characters every day, we just don’t know it,” he continued.
“So I guess It keeps me on my toes and reminds me why I fell in love with acting in the first place, the strife to live so many different lives within a short span. There’s action, there’s romance, there’s thrill and each of these spaces demands a version of me that requires serious thought and not just physically but emotional as well. That contrast is something I’m really enjoying. I am enjoying that directors are making us actors see ourselves in different lights. That championing is equallly important and goes hand in hand,” the actor concluded.
